A shocking loss for anyone who's interested in the art of cinema. He was a true visionary.

May the earth be light upon him.

Hero of my film student son - and his sister’s. Eraserhead scared the daylights out of me but I came to love him and his work. Brilliance isn’t easy. He was a genius.

What made him more than just a director, was his impact on the people around him. He pushed people to grow, reach their potential, and supported them loyally. It didn't matter if they were the star of the show, or a technician working on set, he would give them just as much love.

I would highly recommend his memoir, Room to Dream, for anyone who wants to learn more about Lynch's life, work and relationships.
